In compliance with SB 1162, Western University of Health Sciences is providing a pay scale for this position. The pay scale reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for this position. Within this range, the individual pay is determined by a variety of factors, including but not limited to job-related skills, experience, relevant education or training, and work location. Please note that the compensation details listed reflects the base salary only.

Job Summary
Prepare and administer a curriculum that will develop students into empathetic, competent, dynamic physician assistants for life-long learners.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Individuals must possess these knowledges, skills and abilities or be able to explain and demonstrate that the individual can perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation, using some other combination of skills and abilities.
1. Knowledge of the laws and regulations relating to the practice of Physician Assistants.
2. Knowledge of the skills and tasks that are performable by a primary care Physician Assistant.
3. Effective skills in oral and written communication.

Required Qualifications
1. EDUCATION: Completion of an accredited Physician Assistant Program and possessing a Bachelors Degree.
2. PERFERENCE: Will be given to individuals possessing a Masters degree. Will be given to individuals with teaching experience.
3. EXPERIENCE: Minimum two years of clinical experience as a Physician Assistant or 1 year of clinical experience and a Masters degree.
4. LICENSURE: California Physician Assistant License; NCCPA Certification

Teaching
a. Develop and implement instructional methodologies for achieving pre-approved course objectives.
b. Plans and presents prescribed cirruculum.
c. Develops and implements methods of student evaluation.
d. Evaluates and monitors student progress.
e. Counsels students with academic problems.
f. Assist or refer students with personal problems.
g. Develop instructional materials as required.
h. Assist with curriculum assessment, evaluation, revision and development.
i. Maintains appropriate student records.
j. Participates in clincal skills training sessions.
k. Assists in the clinical education department by providing site visits and scheduling students for rotation sites. Assist in clinical education department evaluation and assessment.
l. Other duties as assigned.
