About the Department
The ECHS Academic Success Center is an office established at UTEP to support ECHS students in their transition to UTEP. Our core responsibility is to serve as a point of contact and central resource for ECHS community members. The ECHS ASC is committed to assisting ECHS students from before admission to after graduation as well as serving as a resource for ECHS counselors, faculty, and administration. Our goals include improving the quality of the university experience for ECHS students, increasing the number of ECHS students attending UTEP, and preparing ECHS students for successful transition to post baccalaureate studies or career engagement.
Position Information
Hiring Department: Outreach and Student Access
Posting End Date: Open until filled. This posting may close once a sufficient number of qualified applications have been received.
Hours: 40 hours per week, standard Monday- Friday 8:00am- 5:00pm, flexibility is required on evenings and weekends
FLSA status: Exempt
Earliest Start Date: As soon as possible.
Salary: $46,550 annually

The primary accountabilities are intended to describe the general content of and requirements of this position and are not intended to be an exhaustive statement of duties. This position is security-sensitive and subject to Texas Education Code 51.215, which authorizes the employer to obtain criminal history record information. A valid driver's license issued by the State where the applicant resides and insurability as defined in UTS 157 may be required to perform the position's essential functions.
Purpose of Position
Under limited supervision, this position provides coordinating services, keeps official records, and executes
administrative policies determined by or in conjunction with other officials.
Essential Functions
Develops and implements administrative procedures for information processing, record maintenance, funding compliance; compiles, verifies and prepares materials and information to comply with required reports, surveys, analysis; establishes recordkeeping procedures and monitors records for appropriate information retention.
Provides early college high school students guidance regarding transition, educational goal setting, degree plans, eligibility requirements, application process, financial aid and course selection.
Collaborates and maintains excellent working relationships with early college high school students and school personnel.
Plans, designs, and delivers workshops and events for ECHS school personnel and ECHS students.
Assists in the implementation of grant components that support early college high school student success.
Monitors students' academic progress and provides academic assistance through the respective programs/systems; assesses eligibility requirements and progress of students.
May collect, review, and follow up with students regarding completed applications and respective processes,
ensuring documentation received is complete and accurate.
Participates in recruiting and marketing presentations/activities for prospective students and parents on/offsite.
Communicates with respective personnel across campus, serving as liaison between academic departments
and students.
May assist with grant writing functions to include researching/identifying funding opportunities, generating
required documentation, establishing budgetary needs, and submitting proposals.
Coordinates communication efforts/marketing plans for the program by researching and releasing information,
through multimedia outlets, to current/prospective clients; develops brochures, newsletter, flyers, booklets, and
other publications for internal and external use and maintains the ECHS website and social media
communication.
Evaluates effectiveness of support functions and recommends changes.
Knowledge of all Microsoft Office software and able to learn and use institutional software systems.
Complies with all State and University policies.
Other duties may be assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities: Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems

Required Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor's degree from four year college or university within area of assigned responsibility.

Experience: Three years of related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Preferred Qualifications: Four years of related experience to the statement of duties and responsibilities; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
